I attended City Shoots at City Hall this week, a day long series of talks and workshops designed to acknowledge and support sustainable food projects in inner London Primary Schools. Inspiring talks by City Shoots founder, Happy Kitchen co-founder, and London Leader for 2010 Lisa Stockton; Chair of the London Food Board Rosie Boycott; and Arthur Potts-Dawson, chef and founder of The People’s Supermarket were followed by case studies from School Teachers and children currently engaged in their own ‘City Shoots’ projects. Truly inspiring. The benefits of providing growing experiences to children (as well as to their teachers, families and community) was there for all to see. Check City Shoots for more info.
