Macrobiotics for Life

I just read a book by Simon Brown, which has cured me. I have been suffering from a fixed opinion about Macrobiotics, based on what I have heard and assumed it to be. It has been a word leaves an uncomfortable taste in my mouth. But this book positions Macrobiotics in a context which is much more palatable to me. It speaks of Macrobiotic Healing, but uses healing in the sense of being ‘a process of discovery that brings about change to ourselves.’ It is an invocation to explore our relationship with food and find out what works for us. No prescriptive ‘good’ and ‘bad’ dictums. A lot of insight and common sense. Observations from personal experience, which are not forced down your throat. It’s a gentle, inspiring read.
