Nicky and I shared a meal at Railroad, a delightful café-restaurant on Morning Lane in Hackney. We chose a couple of plates from the stripped back menu, and happily ducked and dived between them. Lizzie and Matt are doing something really special: simple dishes with a twist, and an unmistakable home-cooked feel. I enjoyed the plate of Roasted Quail on a bed of lamb lettuce and Roasted Squash (I have no idea what Lizzie did to it, but the Squash was exquisite!) accompanied by a fresh, garlicky yoghurt dressing.
