The day of arrival in Aotearoa, the start of my two-plus month summer sojourn, and I’m immediately taken under the wing of my North Shore Whanau (family). A taste of local wholefood cooking for dinner, with a delicious quiche whipped up by Aunt Heather using eggs provided by the girls from the hen house: (pictured) Lucky the White Leghorn, and Lacy the Silver Wyandotte.
