West Norwood Slow Food festival

I’ve been invited to do a cooking demonstration at the West Norwood Slow Food Festival, on Saturday 31 March. The invitee, the delightful Sarah Coursey (self confessed writer/sommelier/dining junkie and wholefood cooking afficianado) is co-producing the event. Inspired by the Italian Slow Food philosophy of  (a region close to her heart), the festival will feature producers, allotments, cooks, bakers, picklers, coffee roasters, chocolatiers etc from the West Norwood area, as well as a few imports, like myself. It promises to be something extra special, so put the date in your diary!

I’ll be preparing a Vegetable & Miso Soup from scratch, and advocating the delights of creating vegetable stocks from a few simple ingredients, as a way of creating a cooking ‘window’ when you enter your kitchen. It’s all captured in our first Wholefood Kitchen video which went out last week, and is featured on the WNSFF website.
