Save Stocks Farm

A visit to the Stoke Newington Farmers Market today revealed that market stalwarts Stocks Farm are threatened with closure of their farm, due to escalating prices of organic feed and fuel and a poor apple harvest this year. Having personally enjoyed plenty of produce grown or reared organically by brothers Iain and Chris, I endorse their appeal to the local community to support this small, local, organic family farm. On a day when The Guardian broke news of the 100% Horsemeat ‘Beef’ Lasagnes offered by Findus, this presents a real opportunity to make a conscious choice about buying your produce from suppliers who operate with real care and integrity. If you are on the lookout for high quality Organic Meat, Eggs and Apples, take a visit to their market stall at the Growing Communities Farmers Market held every Saturday at St Paul Church, Stoke Newington High St, from 10am– 2.30pm. For further information, check out the Stock Farms website, or their facebook page.
